Boredoms leader Eye, along with Nike Sportswear, brings his multiple drum mayhem to Los Angeles and New York this summer with an event titled 88BoaDrum. The follow-up to last year's 77BoaDrum montage will last 88 minutes and take place on August 8 -- 8/8/08 for all you math nerds.

According to P4K: "The Los Angeles event will take place at 8:08 PM PST at the La Brea Tar Pits, and will feature drummers selected by both the Boredoms and 88Boadrum artistic director Hisham Bharoocha of Soft Circle. The New York event, conducted on behalf of the Boredoms by Brooklyn's own Gang Gang Dance, goes down at 8:08 PM EST at the Williamsburg waterfront."

Next month's BoaDrums events are free, but you'll need a 'brownpaperticket' for entry. Tickets will be available this Friday, July 18 at brownpapertickets.com, at Amoeba Records Hollywood and the L.A. County Museum of Art, or at New York's Other Music and Sound Fix Records.

So what the hell does Nike have to do with all of this? Nike Sportswear will provide the commemorative "88Boadrum NSW Tee collection." Attendees can purchase these hand-screened T-shirts -- featuring designs by Eye -- at the event.
