Deerhunter has revealed details and cover art for its highly anticipated sophomore album, Microcastle. The follow-up to last year's Cryptograms drops October 28 through Kranky in North America and 4AD in the rest of the world.

The first single will be a limited seven-inch of "Nothing Ever Happened" backed by "Little Kids (Demo)." As previously reported, several tracks were posted last month via the band's MySpace page.

"Saved by Old Times" features a vocal collage by Cole Alexander of the Black Lips. The album also features two songs with lead vocals by guitarist Lockett Pundt: "Agoraphobia" and "Neither of Us, Uncertainly."

Songs like "Agoraphobia," "Never Stops" and the sprawling finale of "Twilight at Carbon Lake" show Bradford Cox loosening up -- using more immediate pop structures. You could say the band is exploring atmosphere in a cleaner more concise way.

Deerhunter will make several stops on the road with Nine Inch Nails. Check those dates below.
