Grizzly Bear Get to Work on 'Sunnier' Album

Grizzly Bear.jpgFollowing 2006's masterpiece Yellow House should be a challenging task for the Brooklyn quartet. Grizzly Bear's Ed Droste talks to Billboard about the group's upcoming three-week studio visit:

"I think we're all in a really poppy place for sure. There are dark lyrics in play, and it's not like the whole album is going to be an up-tempo radio pop thing at all. We'll probably never get played on the radio, but [on] just a couple of the songs the mood is perhaps a bit sunnier than Yellow House."

New titles that have emerged are "While You Wait for the Others," which we offered here, and "Nine." The latter will be performed on the group's July 23 appearance on the Late Show with David Letterman.

As previously reported, The Grizz will support Radiohead on six dates in the U.S. Then, the band plans on returning to the studio with its sights set on an April, 2009 release.
