Rush to Play 'The Colbert Report,' first Television Performance in Over 30 Years!

Rush.jpgTomorrow night at 11:30 p.m. EST/PST, prog-rock legends Rush will pay the epic single "Tom Sawyer" on Comedy Central's hilarious Colbert Report. This rare national television appearance will be the band's first since 1975. Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson, and Neil Peart are currently promoting their latest double-CD, Snakes & Arrows Live, which was recorded last October at the Netherlands' Ahoy Rotterdam arena.

Since the trio released its self-titled debut album in 1974, Rush has released some of the most influential and important rock albums ever: 1976's 2112, 1981's Moving Pictures, 1996's Test for Echo and 2002's Vapor Trails. Since the band's inception, sales have exceeded 35 million units. Whoa.

In related news, you can now download additional Rush tracks from the Rock Band music store catalog, including 'Rush Masters Vault' editions of "Closer to the Heart" and an exclusive Rock Band version of "Working Man" -- containing a never-released alternative guitar solo.
